Kids, flouride and good dental habits
A child that learns the importance of taking care of their teeth and gums is an important first step. Children learn healthy habits from their parents. By cleaning their teeth daily and giving them healthy foods, children can grow with a healthy outlook about themselves and their dental visits.
Preventing cavities that are caused from sugary diets is possible. Each time a person chooses to eat foods high in carbohydrates or drinks juice, soda or other acid-rich liquids, the bacteria causing cavities can dissolve teeth and create cavities.
The good news is that we can prevent most of the problems that can happen to our teeth and gums. Let us show you how we can customize a plan to help you achieve a healthy smile.
Fluoride
We want your child to have the best start early in life. Fluoride is a naturally occurring mineral in most water sources. It helps protect our teeth from by making it more resistant to decay. Fluoride is found in most toothpastes and some mouthrinses in low concentrations. Our dental hygienist now use fluoride varnish in stronger concentrations for even more protection. Fluoride varnish is easily painted on teeth rather than using bulky mouth trays with foaming fluoride. Fluoride varnish rather than foam or gels are fast becoming the standard of care.
